The National Trust have many wonderful properties in the area: Highlights include Calke Abbey, Hardwick Hall and Kedleston Hall.
Bakewell is a 20 minute drive away and is home to the famous Bakewell Pudding as well as Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall
The spa town of Buxton is a 15 minute drive away, and the market towns of Ashbourne and Leek can be reached within 15-20 minutes. Alton Towers is 35 minutes away.
The Potteries are also close to this part of the Peak District. The factory shops of Emma Bridgewater and Burleigh make for a fascinating trip.
